Napoli’s Serie A title decider against Udinese could be changed
The final decision for the kick-off time will be made on Tuesday.
A delegation of the Udine government is considering bringing the Serie A match between Napoli and Udinese forward by two hours in order to bring forward the start of the possible party in the city of Naples.
“For the moment, a meeting has been convened for tomorrow morning at the Delegation with the forces of law and order, the City Council and Udinese to manage the influx of fans for the match,” the delegation in Udine said on Monday.
Napoli set for Scudetto
The game has been originally scheduled for 8.45pm local time and any decision on the matter will be taken on Tuesday, with just over 48 hours to go before Napoli can claim their first Scudetto in 33 years.
A win against Udinese would be enough to clinch the title, although there is a chance they could be champions without kicking a ball because if second-placed Lazio fail to beat Sassuolo on Wednesday they would not have the points to catch the leaders.
Napoli made to wait
The rescheduling of the match would also bring forward the arrival of the players at Naples airport, where a crowd of fans is expected to be waiting to welcome the team. Napoli are also considering opening the Diego Armando Maradona stadium for all those who were present for Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Salernitana to watch the game on giant screens.
