Ciudad de México Update:

Tigres midfielder Sebastián Córdova will become a free agent at the end of the month, giving him the freedom to negotiate with any club. Pumas are among the teams showing strong interest in acquiring his services.

Sources close to AS Mexico report that the Pedregal club has already made initial inquiries. Córdova’s potential move could be influenced by Antonio Sancho, who recently joined Pumas as vice president of sports. Sancho previously worked with Tigres and could facilitate a reunion with the player he tried to sign for Monterrey during the 2022 Clausura.

Salary remains the main hurdle

The key issue in any potential deal is Córdova’s salary, which was substantial during his time with Tigres. Negotiations will likely focus on aligning expectations to make a move feasible.

A standout Tigres career

Córdova’s chapter with Tigres concluded after four years, during which he played 159 games, scored 24 goals, and contributed 17 assists. He also helped the club win three titles, including one Liga MX championship, one Campeón de Campeones trophy, and one Campeones Cup. Now free to explore new opportunities, Córdova has options both in Mexico and potentially abroad.
