With two matchdays already completed in the Clausura 2024, Toluca are still looking to make reinforcements. The board have reportedly reached an agreement with Juan Escobar, who is set to move on from Cruz Azul. However, to bring in the Cementero defender, they must first free up one of the slots allocated for foreign players and it appears that Brazilian forward Pedro Raúl will be the one elected to leave.

According to journalist César Merlo, the Rio native’s adventure in the Liga MX is already over and he has left the club to return to his homeland, signing for Corinthians. Toluca have not confirmed the departure of the South American but in the coming days an official annoucement could be made.

In the event that the departure is finalized, Toluca would have a free slot available for a foreign player. A few days ago the Choricera board confirmed the return of Alexis Vega, who no longer had a place with Chivas Guadalajara and will continue his career at Nemesio Diez.

The Diablos are under pressure as they have not been crowned league champions since the Bicentenario 2010 when they beat Santos Laguna in the capital.
