The language is one factor and he is open to offers, although he has denied rumors about any contact with Real Madrid.

“Players live where they want. I’d live in Madrid” - Chelsea star makes future desires clear
Rumors linking Enzo Fernández with Real Madrid refuse to fade, and the player himself has only added fuel to the speculation. Speaking in a YouTube interview with Avirales, the Chelsea midfielder gave a revealing answer when asked whether he could see himself living anywhere other than England or Argentina.
“I’d like to live in Spain. I really like Madrid, it reminds me of Buenos Aires. Players live where they want. I’d live in Madrid. I get by in English, but I’d be more comfortable in Spanish,” he said, leaving little room for interpretation.
The interviewers pressed further, asking which club he might play for. They floated options such as Getafe, Real Madrid, Atlético Madrid, and Rayo Vallecano – noting the latter’s resemblance to River Plate’s colors. This time, however, the midfielder chose not to respond. He was more forthcoming when discussing a potential return to Argentina: “I’ll go back to River, but not to retire – I want to return while I’m still at my best.”
Just days earlier, upon arriving in Argentina, Fernández had dismissed any suggestion of contact with Madrid. “Real Madrid? Honestly, nothing – zero talks. Right now we’re focused on Chelsea and the games we have left. After the World Cup, we’ll see,” he said.
For now, his stance remains publicly unchanged, but his words continue to stir intrigue. This story, it seems, is far from over.
