Possible Barcelona XI against Inter in the Champions League
Xavi Hernández is missing several key players for the Champions League clash with Inter.
Barcelona take on Inter Milan in Group C of the Champions League on Tuesday. The Blaugrana, after losing their previous Champions League game against Bayern Munich, play the first of two games against Inter, a match that will be decisive in the group.
Inter team news
Inter, meanwhile, have two significant absentees in Marcelo Brozovic and Romelu Lukaku. For Inzaghi’s peace of mind, Lautaro Martínez will be available. The Argentinian forward picked up an injury in the Serie A game against Roma, but subsequent tests proved there was no injury. The news comes as a relief for Inter and also for the Argentina national team, with the World Cup just around the corner.
Barcelona team news
Héctor Bellerín, Ronald Araújo, Jules Koundé, Frenkie de Jong and Memphis Depay are still injured for Barcelona and have not travelled with the rest of the squad. Xavi is expected to introduce some changes to the side that won in Mallorca. Sergi Roberto, who was replaced at Son Moix by Alejandro Balde on the opposite flank, will likely play on the right side of defence tonight. On the other flank, Marcos Alonso is in contention for his second start.
De Jong misses out for Barcelona
Frenkie de Jong (injured) will be replaced by Gavi and we will have to wait and see if Franck Kessié - who returns to his former stadium - plays a key role. In attack, Raphinha could come in for Ansu Fati to accompany Ousmane Dembélé and Robert Lewandowski.
Possible Barcelona starting XI
Ter Stegen; Sergi Roberto, Christensen, Eric García, Marcos Alonso; Busquets, Gavi, Pedri; Dembélé, Raphinha, Lewandowski.
Possible Inter starting XI
Onana; Skriniar, De Vrij, Bastoni; Darmian, Barella, Asllani, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco; Lautaro, Dzeko.
