Pulisic and Milan booed off the pitch after total collapse

The USMNT forward was unable to inspire his side as they were crushed at San Siro against Udinese.

Update:

I hope Christian Pulisic has a telescope. A month ago it was a magnifying glass, and last week I wished for him to find his binoculars, but now things are serious.

Looking down the back of the sofa is not enough for the player who wishes to be the USMNT’s driving force at the World Cup this summer. His form needs to be searched for elsewhere. And found. Quickly.

The 27-year-old was booed off the pitch along with the rest of a crestfallen AC Milan side who failed to lay a glove on Udinese in their recent 0-4 Serie A loss at San Siro.

Not only are his side now out of the title race, they are looking nervously over their shoulder at the trio of teams - Juventus, Como, and AS Roma - who are all chasing them down in the table.

The boos started well before the full-time whistle, just ahead of Udinese getting a third goal with around 20 minutes to go; seconds later the board went up and off trudged the player who has not scored for 16 games.

His form wouldn’t be so stark if a public acknowledgement of such a terrible run had been made, but Pulisic’s constant reminders that he’s on the verge of hitting his best take me back to being told there was “just 5 more minutes and we’re there” in the long car journey. The trouble is that we’re old enough to read the road signs and know we’re nowhere near.
