The captain of the United States national team, Christian Pulisic, will want to break his Champions League drought and score his first goal in a Milan shirt in European competition, something he has not been able to do in the first three games so far.

The American has not managed to score a goal in the UEFA Champions League since March 16, 2022. It was in a Chelsea shirt, when he managed to get one of the goals in a 2-1 win over French side Lille.

The 24-year-old has 7 goals in the UEFA Champions League in total (5 in a Chelsea shirt and two with Dortmund), the most important of them coming with the Londoners in the semi-final against Real Madrid.

Milan can’t afford to slip up in UCL

Milan sit between a rock and a hard place in the UEFA Champions League: The rossoneri no longer have any margin for error in Europe’s elite tournament, and now they face one of the favourites for the trophy: Kylian Mbappé's PSG, who beat the Italians the last time they met in the third game of the Group Stage.

The draw at home against Newcastle, as well as the surprise win by the English against the French, means Stefano Pioli’s men occupy last place in the group and have the obligation to find points from somewhere to avoid sinking further as their European dream crashes.

Pioli confirms Pulisic to start vs PSG

Given this sticky situation, and after missing the last Serie A match against Udinese, Pulisic is back and will start for the crucial game they will have at San Siro on Tuesday. “Pulisic is feeling well and will start tomorrow,” Pioli said in the press conference on Monday before the meeting takes place in front of the leaders of his sector.

Milan only have one win in six games, a narrow victory in a crazy game against Genoa in Serie A. Apart from that victory, which took an 87th minute winner from Pulisic, Milan have only managed 2 draws, a goalless encounter against Dortmund and a 2-2 tie versus Napoli. Pulisic, given he will start the game, has the chance to turn around Milan’s fortunes and get their season back on track.
