Querétaro vs Club América suspended: times, how to watch on TV, stream online | Liga MX

Liga MX Apertura is back and Club América were scheduled to take on Querétaro in the second fixture of the league Apertura on Sunday.

However league officials announced on Friday that the game will be suspended until further notice due to the unsatisfactory condition of the pitch at Estadio Corregidora. A recent concert by Carín León was held on the pitch, leaving considerable markings on the surface.

“The latest expert reports indicate that the pitch suffered considerable damage for not following the dismantling protocols for an event held at the La Corregidora Stadium on Sunday, June 25,” the league announced.

América finished second in the league last season, reaching the semi-finals of the playoffs, but there has been upheaval in the capital over summer. André Jardine has been brought in as head coach but he suffered defeat in their season opening against Juárez.

Querétaro, on the other hand, got off to an impressive start with a win over Santos Laguna in their first game of the season.

When will Querétaro vs América be played?

The game between Queretaro vs América was scheduled to be played on Sunday, July 9, with kick off at 9:00 p.m. ET / 6:00 p.m. PT.

That will no longer be possible, but rescheduling the fixture may take some time. After matchday three Liga MX will break for the Leagues Cup, meaning that the game will have to be played sometime after the league campaign resumes in August.

The league’s press release confirmed that no decision on the rescheduled game has been made: “LIGA BBVA MX reports the decision to reschedule the match in order to safeguard the integrity of the players and the refereeing body, with a date and time to be confirmed.”

The game had been scheduled for broadcast on the following channels in the US: Univision, TUDN, UniMas, Telemundo, Universo, FOX Deportes

We expect that the same broadcasters will keep the television rights for the rescheduled fixture, but no decision on this has been announced.
