Real Madrid and Barcelona set for new El Clásico collision as 2025/26 dates revealed
Xabi Alonso prepares for his first El Clásico as Real Madrid and Barcelona begin a new chapter in their historic rivalry.

Although Real Madrid’s 2024/25 season may not yet be finished due to their participation in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, they can already start making plans for 2025/26 with LaLiga having released its fixture list for the next campaign. As a result, new head coach Xabi Alonso knows when he will face Barcelona in El Clásico for the very first time.
El Clásico dates in LaLiga 2025/26 season
The first Madrid vs Barça clash of the 2025/26 season will be played on Matchday 10 at Estadio Santiago Bernabéu on the weekend of Sunday, October 26. LaLiga hasn’t yet scheduled kickoff times, which means the game could be moved to the Saturday (Friday and Monday are also possibilities, in theory, but highly unlikely).

The return fixture will be the first Clásico at the ‘new’ Spotify Camp Nou, to be played on Matchday 35 on the weekend of May 10, 2026. Given there will only be three more league games for Real Madrid and Barcelona after that meeting, the game could well have a huge bearing on where the LaLiga title ends up.
When is Barcelona’s first game at the ‘new’ Spotify Camp Nou?
Because Barcelona’s permanent home is still being redeveloped, Hansi Flick’s team start the new league season with three away games: Mallorca (weekend of August 17), Levante (weekend of August 24) and Rayo Vallecano (weekend of August 31).
Their first fixture back at Spotify Camp Nou will see them host Valencia on Matchday 4 on the weekend of September 14.

Real Madrid’s first three LaLiga 2025/26 opponents
Alonso’s first league game in charge of Los Blancos is at home to Osasuna (weekend of August 17). Before the first international break of the season, Madrid travel to promoted Real Oviedo (weekend of August 24) and host Mallorca (weekend of August 31).
