Several sportspeople have tried their hand at acting over the years, although the recent trend (Drive to Survive, Break Point, Full Swing) has seen them appear as themselves in documentaries detailing the hard work and dedication required for them to reach the top of their respective sports. Real Madrid forward Vinicius Júnior is set to be the latest to make the move to the small screen as it has been revealed that he will be the star of a Netflix series telling the story of his career so far.

The production will touch on the ups and downs of the Brazilian’s time in Spain, including the racist abuse that he has suffered at the hands of some fans on a number of occasions. Netflix announced the release of the documentary via their Spanish social media accounts on Tuesday.

When will Vinicius’ Netflix series premiere? What will it be called?

The streaming service revealed that the as-yet unnamed series on the life of “one of the biggest names in world soccer” would premiere in 2025, without being more specific. Vinicius himself also shared the promo online, along with the following message: “Very happy to announce I’m making a documentary about my life with Netflix. The premiere is scheduled for 2025. Until then, here’s a nutmeg for you [in the clip]. DANCE!”

Amongst those commenting on the winger’s post on Instagram was Real Madrid teammate Lucas Vázquez, who seemingly took part in some light trolling, adding a laughing emoji to his “Great actor” comment.
