After a break in the major football leagues for the September international fixtures, the LaLiga fixtures are set to get the 2024/25 season going again. Barcelona have been the standout side so far, racking up a perfect record with four wins in their first four matches, while Real Madrid are sitting in second place in the standings with two wins and two draws.

Carlo Ancelotti’s team will visit Real Sociedad this Saturday, September 14, with the objective of securing all three points. Although the season is still in the early stages, Flick’s performance with FC Barcelona has been impeccable, and he is clear in his idea to pursue titles with the Catalan side.

What is the longest ever unbeaten streak in LaLiga?

With the much-anticipated arrival of Kylian Mbappé, Real Madrid are more than eager to retain their status as LaLiga champions, but early draws against Mallorca and Las Palmas have complicated their start. A recent victory over Betis, where Mbappé's brace helped secure a crucial win, managed to pick up their moods, but there is still a way to go for him to establish himself as a key member of Los Blancos.

Real Madrid are also closing in on a year-long unbeaten streak in LaLiga. Following their win over Betis, they have gone 36 matches without defeat in the domestic league. Their aim now is to challenge Barcelona’s record of 43 unbeaten games, set between April 2017 and May 2018.

Real Madrid’s last defeat in LaLiga came almost a year ago on September 24, 2023, when they lost 3-1 away to Atlético Madrid. In that match, Álvaro Morata scored twice, and Griezmann added a third for Atlético, while Toni Kroos netted Real Madrid’s only goal.

In the coming weeks, Madrid will face Real Sociedad in LaLiga and host Stuttgart at the Bernabéu for the new UEFA Champions League format, where they are also the defending champions. They will then return to domestic league action against Espanyol and Alavés on September 24, aiming to complete a full year without defeat.
