Update:

Real Madrid head into the derbi madrileño with a number of injury doubts, as both Thibaut Courtois and Kylian Mbappé are both overcoming physical issues.

The Belgian goalkeeper went off at half-time in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 second leg against Manchester City and was replaced by Andriy Lunin.

As the game went on, it emerged that he had suffered an adductor strain, and was taken off as a precaution ahead of a huge weekend in LaLiga.

Kylian Mbappé, meanwhile, is in the process of overcoming a longer term knee issue, which has been causing him pain since December. The French forward has undergone treatment and is now back in contention for a place in the team, and made a 20-minute appearance against City. This has seen him propel himself into Arbeloa’s plans for the LaLiga fixture against city rivals Atlético Madrid, who they play at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu on Sunday.

The entire injury list makes the Canterbury Tales look like a post-it note, with all of Militão, Mendy, Asencio, Ceballos, and Rodrygo unable to feature.

Jude Bellingham was a surprise addition to Álvaro Arbeloa’s squad for the game against Manchester City, prompting many to wonder whether or not he would be fit to feature. While he did not play in the end, his inclusion in the match day squad has given fans hope that he could at least play a limited role when the colchoneros travel across the city to try and put a dent in Los Blancos’ title hopes.

The Spanish-capital derby kicks off at the Bernabéu at 4:00 p.m. ET/1:00 p.m. PT; viewers in the U.S. can watch the game on ESPN Select and ESPN Deportes, and can also stream the action on fubo, which offers a free trial. Of course, AS USA will have a live feed of the game that gives you a unique minute-by-minute breakdown of everything that happens. We’ll be live around an hour before kick-off and will be on hand to digest the fallout.
