Real Madrid move quickly to respond to speculation over new appointment
Los Blancos addressed speculation after a late-night radio report stirred questions about potential structural changes.

Real Madrid has publicly shut down speculation that it is preparing to appoint a new sporting director, issuing a firm statement after claims aired on Spanish program El Larguero sparked fresh debate over the club’s internal structure. The club’s official response, published on Friday, April 10, described that report as “completely false” and left little room for interpretation.
Why did Real Madrid reply to rumor?
The timing of the denial was notable. With the season entering a decisive stretch, Madrid clearly had no interest in allowing questions over its executive model to gather momentum. Rather than simply rejecting the report, the club used the statement to underline its faith in the people already running football operations behind the scenes.
Real Madrid said it “greatly values” the work of its sporting management, pointing to one of the most successful eras in club history, including six European Cups in 10 years.

That wording felt deliberate. As well as disputing the claim, and controlling spin-off rumors, they defended the current structure and seemed to want to make the confidence clear.
For now, Real Madrid’s position is unmistakable: no new sporting director is being lined up, and the current hierarchy still has the club’s full backing. Given what’s at stake in the coming days and week’s – starting with Girona tonight and Bayern on Tuesday – distractions are not needed.
