Real Madrid, PSG, Chelsea and Liverpool on alert as Tchouaméni makes decision
The Monaco and France midfielder has been attracting interest from across Europe and has reportedly decided to move on in the summer.
Aurélien Tchouaméni has decided to leave AS Monaco this summer, placing Real Madrid, PSG, Chelsea and Liverpool on high alert as a bidding war for the 22-year-old France international, who has become one of the hottest midfield properties in Europe after two outstanding seasons at the Stade Louis II. Now it appears that Tchouaméni, who has been capped eight times by Les Bleus, will take the next step in his career in June and move on from Ligue 1, barring any last-minute surprises. Even Champions League qualification will not alter the midfielder’s decision, according to RMC Sport, who reported on Thursday that the €70m-rated youngster has made up his mind to try his luck elsewhere.
Tchouaméni, who is widely regarded as among the best midfielders in Europe despite his age, has been linked with a host of non-Ligue 1 sides, but PSG recently threw their hat into the ring amid rumours that he would become available this summer. Madrid, Liverpool and Chelsea are considered to be the other main suitors for the France international, but more are likely to show their hands when it becomes official that he is on the market.
PSG may find Monaco unwilling to repeat Mbappé deal
PSG are expected to make a big push for the youngster having missed out on Eduardo Camavinga last summer and have had scouts watching the Bordeaux academy product’s progress. However, Monaco are unlikely to place the same demands on PSG as they will foreign clubs, given that reinforcing a direct rival is hardly in their interest. The last time a player moved from Stade Louis II to the Parc des Princes was in 2017, when the Parisians helped themselves to Kylian Mbappé.
