I have never seen Vinicius Junior at the local sweet shop asking Carlo Ancelotti for a bag of cola cubes, but I bet the Italian doesn’t say no. He’s just got one of those faces: the Puss-In-Boots eyes from Shrek, the look that says “pretty please” and the one that makes you inevitably say “OK”. Let’s hope then, for all our sakes, that he looks at Dani Ceballos in the same way.

Dani Ceballos’ contract runs out in at the end of this season. The 26-year-old has featured 16 times this season, and has become a key part of the midfield for Real Madrid this season, substituting both Toni Kroos and Luka Modric to good effect, adding something different to the dynamic of Los Blancos.

What did Vinicius tweet about Ceballos?

The Brazilian winger took to Twitter to respond to a post by the official club account which showed a photo of the winger being hugged by Ceballos, to which Vinicius replied “Ceballos, stay” followed by two emojis. The player’s contract runs out this summer, along with that of Modric, Benzema, Lucas, Nacho and Mariano.

Ceballos himself has not made any comments on whether or not he will sign a contract extension and commit his future to Real Madrid next season, but the fans have also made their voices heard, singing his name at the Santiago Bernabéu and chanting for him to stay, as well as the thousands of replies to the tweet that ask for his renewal with the club.

Rumours have circled that there is indeed an offer on the table from Madrid and that the player has rejected Bayern Munich in favour of staying at the Spanish club, although nothing has yet been confirmed.
