Real Madrid have been confirmed as the Spanish champions for a record-extending 36th time, clinching the 2023/24 LaLiga title after their win over Cádiz was followed by defeat for Barcelona at Girona.

Madrid’s league success brings them their second piece of silverware this season. Earlier this year, Carlo Ancelotti’s men won the Spanish Super Cup in Riyadh, beating Athletic Club 2-0 in the final.

Real racking up trophy triumphs

Chosen by FIFA as the greatest club of the 20th century in 2000, Madrid continue to add to an extensive haul of trophies. Throughout their 122-year history, Los Merengues have won the European Cup/Champions League on a record 14 occasions, earning their most recent continental crown in the 2021/22 season.

The Bernabéu’s trophy cabinets are brimming with silverware that also includes five UEFA European Super Cups, two UEFA Cups and 20 Copas del Rey.
