Romeo Beckham supplies three assists in the MLS Next Pro league

The son of David Beckham had an impressive performance on Tuesday in Inter Miami’s 3-4 defeat against the Philadelphia Union II.

Inter Miami is struggling to find the back of the net at the start of the 2022 MLS regular season and they are the worst team in the league after five appearances. They brought more than ten new players in for this campaign but the head coach, Phil Neville, has struggled to find a solid starting XI.

Romeo Beckham could help the first team

The people in charge at Inter Miami are already thinking about signing players during the summer transfer window so they can make a late push to qualify for the playoffs this season, but the answer could be in their own house. On Tuesday Inter Miami CF II tied 3-3 against Philadelphia Union II after 90 minutes at DRV PNK stadium and Romeo Beckham was the best player in the fixture in the MLS Next Pro league.

The son of David Beckham, owner of Inter Miami, supplied three assists to force penalty kicks, but the home side lost 4-3 after Philadelphia’s goalkeeper Matt Freese stopped the fifth one. Romeo did not take a penalty because he was substituted late in the second half.

This is good news for the MLS franchise because Romeo was heavily criticized last year when he made his debut for Fort Lauderdale due to his poor performance. Regardless, Inter Miami decided to keep him in the roster and this performance is one step closer to eventually making his debut with the first team in the near future.
