Snapdragon and Manchester United seal record shirt sponsorship deal
Qualcomm Technologies ‘Snapdragon’ will sponsor the ‘Red Devils’ shirts starting in the 2024/2025 season with the deal set to generate 75 million dollars per season for the English club.
Premier League giants Manchester United have agreed a deal with U.S. technology company Qualcomm that will see its Snapdragon brand replace the TeamViewer logo as their shirt sponsor from next season, the Premier League club said.
The club did not reveal the financial details of the deal but it has been reported in various outlets that Qualcomm and United had agreed on a contract for a minimum of three years, with the Old Trafford-based side “targeting an agreement worth approximately $74.92 million per year”.
“Snapdragon will become Manchester United’s front-of-shirt partner from the start of the 2024/25 season, appearing on the men’s and women’s teams’ home, away and third kits,” added the club in an official statement.
In March 2021, the Red Devils signed a five-year agreement with said German technology company who replaced Chevrolet. TeamViewer’s sponsorship was worth approximately $57 million, but Manchester United reported in December that it had reached a “mutually beneficial agreement” to buy back the sponsorship rights for front of shirt.
Now, the appearance of Snapdragon on the front of the shirt will bring even greater revenue to the Old Trafford side. “The agreement has a record value of 75 million dollars”, report the Daily Mail. The agreement is set to that to surpass what is currently the most lucrative shirt sponsorship package currently held by Real Madrid and Fly Emirates which is reported to be worth just over 70 million dollars per season.
