LAFC and Inter Miami feature in one of the most anticipated matches in this final stretch of the 2023 MLS regular season as the Leagues Cup winners head to the City of Lights to face current MLS champions LAFC.

After Saturday’s training session, Inter Miami’s Argentine coach, Gerardo ‘Tata’ Martino, spoke to the media and analysed Sunday’s clash at BMO Stadium.

Martino announced that Messi will start Sunday’s game given the importance of the match and fails to see an option for the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner to rest for this game as he did a week ago against New York Red Bulls.

I don’t imagine in this important match with the current champions that Messi needs a rest. He took some time out at the Red Bulls match and only played for 30 minutes and now he is going to play tomorrow,” Martino explained.

Tata Martino praises LAFC

The Herons head coach took the opportunity to highlight the great quality of the current LAFC side adding: “In my opinion, LAFC is one of the best teams in the league. Carlos Vela is a key player within the team structure and Bouanga and Illie are also decisive. Tomorrow’s game is going to be a good measure for us and a great challenge,” conclude the Inter Miami coach.
