The Manchester City players Real Madrid should fear most tonight
Ahead of the Champions League round-of-16 clash at the Bernabéu, analysts highlight Erling Haaland and rising star Rayan Cherki as key threats.

Real Madrid host Manchester City at the Santiago Bernabéu tonight in the first leg of their Champions League round-of-16 tie (kick-off 4 p.m. ET), and two analysts have highlighted the players they believe pose the biggest threat to the Spanish giants.
Alex Ashmore pointed to City’s depth in attack before singling out Erling Haaland as the main danger.
“There’s so many. I mean Cherki. Semenyo is really key, he’s been a shining light for Man City, but when you look at it, there’s one man in particular, Erling Haaland. I think he’s the man.”
Cherki a danger man for City
Sam Lee, the Manchester City correspondent for The Athletic, picked out Rayan Cherki as another player Madrid must watch closely.
“I think Rayan Cherki has got so much potential. He can kind of do the two things that Guardiola wants. He can take a lot of touches and control the tempo of the game, but he’s so creative and he can score goals as well so he’s the perfect blend and I think he’s an exciting player for me.”
With Haaland leading the line and Cherki offering creativity behind him, City arrive in Madrid with multiple weapons for one of the standout ties of the round.
