Everything is set for the 2022 FIFA World Cup final between Argentina and France that will be played at Lusail stadium on Sunday in Qatar. All eyes will be centered around Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappé in the biggest sporting event in the entire world. Even NBA superstar Lebron James has high expectations to see who will win the tournament.
Lebron’s prediction
The 37-year-old power forward was asked to pick the winner of the World Cup following the Los Angeles Lakers 126-108 win over the Denver Nuggets and his answer was the following: “I’m not gonna choose… I just want to see a great match like the rest of the world, besides whoever is rooting for France or Argentina. It’s going to be a great one. I look forward to seeing two of the greatest to ever play that sport go at it, so it’ll be fun.”
Lebron James follows the sport closely, he is also one of the majority owners of Premier League side Liverpool FC and a shareholder in Serie A side AC Milan. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar praised the level of Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappé and he hopes the best one takes the trophy home.
The Lakers are struggling this season as they sit in twelve place in the standings in the Western Conference with a record of 12 wins and 16 defeats so far in the season. They are looking to make some trades in the upcoming days to make a push to qualify for the playoffs and try to win the NBA title. Lebron is in his fifth season with the Purple & Gold and in his 20th year in the NBA.
