Update:

Germany’s national team travel to face the United States and Mexico next week as part of the FIFA international window with Die Mannschaft playing friendly games in these breaks having automatically qualifying for Euro 2024 as the host nation.

Ahead of Bayern Munich’s Bundesliga game against Freiburg, the head coach of the Bavarian side Thomas Tuchel was asked for his view on the forthcoming friendly games for the national side.

“I find it hard to understand why, before a European Championship in Germany, they are going to play a friendly in the United States against Mexico. If someone could explain it to me so that I understand,” Tuchel told the media.

Germany will face the United States at Rentschler Field in Hartford on 14 October, while four days later they will take on the Mexican national team at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.

In addition, Tuchel fears that the players will suffer from jet lag, with six Bayern Munich players were called up by Julian Nagelsmann for the two friendlies.

The resigned to his fate Tuchel cited jet lag as a worry for his internationals stating. “We are always asked at the end, when everything is decided. Nobody is consulted before the decision. They probably know our opinion and don’t want to hear it,” he concluded.
