In light of what will be a summer filled with challenges for US Soccer, due to the commitments of the 2024 Copa América and the 2024 Paris Olympics, the United States men’s national team confirmed a friendly match against Brazil as part of their preparation for the tournament between CONMEBOL and CONCACAF. The preparatory match will take place in Orlando, Florida.

When is USMNT vs Brazil?

This match represents a highly significant test for the team led by Gregg Berhalter, as facing Brazil before the major summer event will allow them to assess their current standing and how they might compete to vie for lifting the historic trophy on home soil. The USMNT announced the encounter for Wednesday 12 June under the name ‘Allstate Continental Clásico 2024′, due to sponsorship reasons.

It’s worth noting that the pair of friendlies scheduled for the Stars and Stripes will be a good marker, as they will also play against Colombia on Saturday 8 June ahead of the samba boys just eight days before the start of the Copa América, although the United States begins its participation on Sunday 23 June against Bolivia, in a match that seems somewhat favorable for the North Americans at the AT&T Stadium.

True to the tradition of this national team, which involves other sports and their commercial partnerships, the announcement of the match against Vinicius’ Brazil was made during the broadcast of the Tuesday Pregame Show of the NBA on TNT, which holds the rights to USMNT matches. They had already released a teaser video with Sergiño Dest inviting fans to stay tuned.

Berhalter on playing against Brazil:

The North American head coach is aware of the quality possessed by players like Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo Goes and Casemiro, thus expressing his delight about this opportunity: “Having the chance to play against Brazil is special. When you talk about wanting to challenge ourselves against the best teams in the world, you can’t ask for anything better than Brazil.”

“With their group of extremely talented players and their storied history of success on the world stage, this will undoubtedly be a great preparation match. The support of the fans in Orlando has always been extraordinary, and when you play against the five-time champions of the World Cup at Camping World Stadium, it should be even more exciting,” concluded Berhalter in the statement from US Soccer.
