USMNT injury scare as Brenden Aaronson forced off with injury
Leeds United midfielder Aaronson picked up an apparent left leg injury during the Premier League win over Brighton & Hove Albion.

World Cup hopeful Brenden Aaronson limped off in Leeds United’s win over Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday, sparking concern for the USMNT midfielder with less than a month to go before the World Cup.
Aaronson started for Leeds but pulled up in the 58th minute, appearing to have sustained a left leg injury. He was attended to on the field by the Leeds medical team but was substituted immediately after, looked pained as he walked from the field.
The 25-year-old has been a regular in the Leeds team this season and has been a trusted servant for Mauricio Pochettino, offering energy and purpose off the bench. Aaronson has made 36 Premier League appearances for Leeds this season, contributing four goals and five assists.

The USMNT World Cup opener sees the team take on Paraguay on June 12, but Pochettino will name his final 26-man squad for the tournament at a special event on May 26. That gives Aaronson little over a week to prove that he is fit enough to play a significant role at this summer’s World Cup.
