Alex Morgan made her 192nd appearance with the United States women’s national team earlier this week in the 2-0 win against Colombia. That game served as preparation for the start of the CONCACAF Women’s Championship and the USWNT will play against Haiti in Group A on Monday at Estadio Universitario.

The two-time FIFA World Cup winner is celebrating her 33rd birthday on 2 July with the rest of her teammates that are holding camp in Monterrey, Mexico and she is still ranked among the top 50 female soccer players in the world. Morgan is one of the leaders of the USWNT and she aims to help the team qualify to the 2023 FIFA World Cup.

Morgan admires Lionel Messi

The 33-year-old has been very vocal about who her favorite soccer player is and which team she follows the most. In past interviews she confirmed her admiration for Lionel Messi and how much she enjoyed watching him play with FC Barcelona.

Mess is an incredible soccer player. I admire him. I like to watch him play. He [Messi] is out of this world and he is on another level. He can do so much with the ball on his feet and he is the best player in the world,” said Morgan during an interview with BarcaTV in 2016.
