Víctor Guzmán and Nicolás Ibañez aiming to be two-time champions of Liga MX
Tigres and Chivas will face off to win the Clausura 2023, with one player from each side looking to become serial league winners.
Tigres and Chivas will fight for the Clausura 2023 title. The club from Guadalajara starts as favourites, although the team led by Andre-Pierre Gignac will seek to confirm their status as one of Mexico’s biggest clubs.
There are players in both squads who felt the feeling of lifting the Apertura trophy back in October 2022. Nicolás Ibañez from Tigres and Víctor Guzmán from Guadalajara will want their second consecutive trophy in national football after winning with Pachuca last year.
Pachuca duo ready to be consecutive champions
With Guillermo Almada at the helm, Pachuca won their seventh Liga MX title, beating the Diablos Rojos 1-5 in the final. ‘Pocho’ and the former Atlético San Luis striker were key players in the season and now they will be rivals in a final round that promises emotional football from start to finish.
For the Mexican it would be his third title in the First Division (two with Pachuca), while Ibañez has two tournament wins with Atlético San Luis, as well as a promotion and the aforementioned title with Los Tuzos a little less than six months ago.
