Necaxa’s Clausura 2026 isn’t over yet, but the club is already shifting its focus to the next tournament—especially after confirming the loss of one of its most important players.

On Tuesday, the Rayos announced via press release that Julián Carranza, their Argentine striker, will miss the remainder of the season.Julián Carranza, a 25-year-old Argentine striker, had been experiencing constant discomfort, which prevented him from playing and training normally, so Necaxa made the decision to operate on the player.

After the tests, Carranza was diagnosed with acute compartment syndrome in both legs, so he will be out of action for the remainder of this tournament.

What is compartment syndrome in both legs?

In its chronic form, compartment syndrome is a serious condition affecting the muscles. It occurs when pressure builds up inside a muscle compartment, causing the capillaries to collapse and reducing blood flow.

Chronic compartment syndrome builds up slowly over time due to overexertion or exercising too often. Compartment syndrome can cause serious complications including tissue death (necrosis).

Common symptoms include severe pain, tightness, weakness, and tingling or numbness—all of which Carranza experienced during his time with Necaxa.
