When will the Clausura 2023 quarterfinals be held?
With the eight teams confirmed for the league, the dates for the next phase are now known as excitement grows.
The big party of Mexican soccer has commenced, and following a tough playoff round, the teams for the next stage of the tournament have been determined. To the surprise of many, three out of the four teams that managed to secure their spot in the playoffs with rankings from 9 to 12 have advanced to the league. They now have an equal opportunity to compete for the championship title.
Clausura 2023 quarterfinals set
In the recent matches, Atlas defeated Cruz Azul 1-0, Santos won 4-2 in a penalty shootout against Pachuca, Atlético San Luis rallied from behind and secured a 3-1 away victory over León. Tigres, the only team to win at home, qualified by a narrow margin against Puebla. The following are the matchups:
- Monterrey vs Santos (first leg at Corona Stadium, second leg at BBVA Stadium)
- América vs. San Luis (first leg at A. Lastras Stadium, second leg at Azteca Stadium)
- Chivas vs Atlas (first leg at Jalisco Stadium, second leg at Akron Stadium)
- Tigres vs Toluca (first leg at the Universitario Stadium, second leg at the Nemesio Diez Stadium)
Although the exact dates for each match have not yet been confirmed, the scheduled days for each stage of the tournament are already known. The quarterfinals will kick off on Wednesday 10 May and Thursday 11 May with the return fixtures on Saturday 13 May and Sunday 14 May. The semi-finals are set for 17 and 20 May and the final games are set to take place on Thursday 25 May and Sunday 28 May.
The order of the matchups, with regard to home and away games, will be determined based on each team’s position in the regular phase of the current tournament.
