The first half of the Clausura 2023 has been played and, as usual, several coaches have not lasted the whole tournament.

Pumas could sack Puente del Río

The most recent coach whose position has been placed in jeopardy is Rafael Puente del Río, whose Pumas side have drawn two and lost three of their last five Liga MX games. The club’s board is considering firing the 44-year-old, who replaced Andrés Lillini at the seven-time Mexican champions in October.

Five coaches have moved on already in Clausura 2023

If Puente del Río were to leave, he would follow in the footsteps of Raúl ‘Potro’ Gutiérrez, who was sacked by Cruz Azul a week ago; Gabriel Caballero, who was dismissed by Mazatlán at the end of January; Ricardo Valiño, who lost his job as Tijuana boss at the start of February; and Diego Cocca, who left Tigres 10 days ago to take charge of the Mexico national team.

Cruz Azul's Raúl Gutiérrez was the most recent coach to be sacked in the Clausura 2023.
