BAYERN MUNICH

Who could Thomas Tuchel sign for Bayern Munich this summer?

Tuchel wants new signings at Bayern this summer, including a pair of Chelsea players.

Thomas Tuchel has asked for three signings in the summer transfer window. According to Calcio Mercato, the former Chelsea head coach has asked the club to sign his former goalkeeper Édouard Mendy, Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic and Juventus forward Federico Chiesa.

Mendy is still recovering from a shoulder injury he suffered last November and with Kepa’s form, his future at Stamford Bridge is in doubt, so the German coach could take advantage of the situation. Kovacic would add depth and power to the Munich midfield and Chiesa would strengthen his attack.

Chiesa wants to play in the Champions League and at Juventus, that may not prove to be the case. Max Allegri’s side are seventh in Serie A on 41 points, nine points behind Inter (50 points), who are third, so a move to Munich could be attractive.

Bayern monitor Gavi situation

Gavi could become a free agent this summer if he is not registered with the first team at Barcelona. There has been no contact between the German club and the player’s agent, Iván De la Peña, and it is unlikely that he will end up leaving Barcelona, but, as Sky Sports report, Bayern are keeping a close eye on developments. Tuchel is a big fan of Gavi, according to Sky Sports.
