Who has Thomas Tuchel rejected since leaving Chelsea?
The German manager has turned down his first job offer after leaving Chelsea.
Former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has turned down the chance to coach Bayer Leverkusen. The German side are currently second bottom of the Bundesliga with just five points. Bayer’s CEO, Spaniard Fernando Carro, is looking for a change to kickstart the club’s season. Gerardo Seoane remains in charge but the Swiss has reportedly received an ultimatum, according to Sport1. Carro has already contacted Tuchel about taking over the reins, although the German is not interested.
Disastrous start to 2022-23
Bayer’s season has been disastrous. Last season, they finished in third place, which earned them a place in the Champions League. At the start of the season, they have taken five points from a possible 24 and languish in the relegation zone. In the Champions League, they are tied with Atletico Madrid for second place in Group B.
