Adonai Escobedo González has been appointed as the referee for the Apertura 2022 Grand Final, which will be played on Sunday 30 October at the Estadio Hidalgo between Pachuca and Toluca. This will be Escobedo’s first League Final and his 115th match in the First Division.

The Mexican official was born on 21 July 1987 and the 35-year old has had the second most refereeing assignments throughout this campaign, with 16. Only Marco Antonio Ortz Nava (17) has had more.

Escobedo will be joined by assistant referee Miguel Ángel Hernández Paredes, who is in his sixth final and Karen Janett Díaz Medina who is making her third appearance officiating in a final.

Luis Enrique Santander will be the fourth official, while Palazuelos will serve as VAR, assisted by Alberto Morin Hernández.
