Keylor Navas is not happy with his lack of minutes at Paris Saint-Germain this season and he has made it clear that he wants to leave during the winter transfer window. Following the season-ending injury Manuel Neuer suffered after breaking his leg while on a skiing tour last week, it was reported that the Costa Rica international could sign for Bayern Munich in January.

Navas out of the picture

The Costa Rica international is officially out of the picture because of his age and his high salary. The German giants want to sign a young goalkeeper at a low cost to be Neuer’s replacement for the remainder of the season and be the No.1 option once his contract expires in the summer of 2024.

So Bayern Munich will try to recall Alexander Nübel from his loan spell at Ligue 1 club Monaco during the upcoming transfer window. The 26-year-old goalkeeper’s agent told Sky Sport that before Nübel considers an early return, the German giants have to deal with Monaco first.

Now Navas will have to look elsewhere if he wants to see minutes following the break because he has yet to play for PSG under manager Christophe Galtier. The veteran goalkeeper was key in Costa Rica’s 1-0 win over Japan on matchday two of World Cup Group E. In that game Navas made two key saves to keep a clean sheet in Los Ticos’ only win in the tournament.
