The Women’s World Cup Trophy Tour continues its journey around the world and has arrived in South America with FIFA’s intention to bring the original trophy to each of the 32 nations that have secured a place at the forthcoming 2023 World Cup.

After its stops in Asia and Africa, South America is next up as the trophy carries out its global journey.

In each city, special guests and famous faces will be on hand to support the tour with women and girls invited to participate in Skills Drills, a football skills social media challenge being led by Female Football Freestyle World Champion Lia Lewis.

Fans are encouraged to post their Skills Drills on TikTok and Instagram social media channels.

The last destination for the trophy was Brazil where it was snapped alongside the famous ‘Christ the Redeemer’ statue that looks down over the city of Rio de Janeiro. The famous trophy will then journey through Latin America before two stops in the USA (St. Louis and New York City) before making it over to Europe which will be the penultimate stop before returning to Australia/New Zealand where the 2023 Women’s World Cup kicks off on 20 July.
