Update:

Erling Haaland’s Norway faces a 2022 World Cup semifinalist today, as the Scandinavians wrap up their tournament preparations with a clash against Morocco in Harrison, New Jersey.

Returning to the World Cup for the first time since 1998, the Norwegians head into their final warm-up friendly having made light work of Sweden last Monday. In their send-off game in Oslo, Stale Solbakken’s men were 3-1 winners in a matchup that saw the hosts take a three-goal lead before half time.

Drawn in Group I, alongside France, Iraq and Senegal, Norway kicks off its 2026 World Cup campaign on June 16, facing the Iraqis at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

Haaland and Co. out to tame Atlas Lions

The Moroccans, meanwhile, head into this summer’s tournament four years on from an African-record performance. In Qatar, the Atlas Lions became the first team from the continent to reach the World Cup’s last four.

Now coached by Mohamed Ouahbi, who replaced Walid Regragui in March, Morocco is on a three-game winning run. Most recently, the North Africans thumped Madagascar 4-0 on Tuesday, in their farewell fixture in Rabat.

Placed in Group C, with Brazil, Haiti and Scotland, the Moroccans open up their World Cup against the Brazilians on June 13, at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

In all, there are six World Cup teams on today’s international slate. In addition to Croatia, Morocco and Norway, Group E’s Ecuador is in action in an Ohio friendly against Guatemala, while Group K’s Colombia plays Group J’s Jordan, a team preparing to make its World Cup debut.
