With the countdown to this summer’s World Cup well underway, the United States men’s national team, led by Mauricio Pochettino, continues shaping its strongest possible roster to compete on home soil.

On Thursday, U.S. Soccer released new details about the final squad list Pochettino will present for the tournament, confirming earlier expectations that it will be unveiled on May 26.

With exactly 26 days remaining until that date, the federation announced that on Tuesday, May 26 at 3:00 p.m. ET, Pochettino will personally reveal the 26 players selected for the World Cup during a nationally televised public event.

The event will be free and open to the public, though prior registration is required, and will take place on the rooftop at Pier 17 in New York’s South Street Seaport. It is there that the head coach of the Stars and Stripes will announce his final roster.

U.S. Soccer selected the venue in collaboration with the New Jersey World Cup Host Committee, citing its symbolic backdrop, with the Brooklyn Bridge and East River framing the setting.

How the USMNT roster reveal will unfold

Doors will open at 1:00 p.m. ET, allowing registered fans to arrive early and take part in the festivities.

The build-up to the announcement will feature live music, immersive soccer-themed activities, and fan experiences tied to the upcoming World Cup. These pre-event activities will run for a couple of hours before the main moment, when Pochettino reveals the squad live on FOX.

Final friendlies before the World Cup

Following the announcement, the USMNT will gather for its final preparations, including two friendlies against high-level opposition.

The team will face Senegal on May 31 at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina (approximately 2,900 miles / 4,670 km from Madrid), before taking on Julian Nagelsmann’s Germany on June 6 at Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois (around 4,200 miles / 6,760 km from Madrid).
