Chile come to Barranquilla in desperate need of several positive results to inject a semblance of hope in what, to date has been a miserable campaign with La Roja just recording one win in eight games and languish in the penultimate position in the table.
Chilean head coach Ricardo Gareca, has stated that he will continue fighting for World Cup qualification until it is mathematically impossible, despite currently sitting second-to-last in the standings and La Roja would accept a seventh place finish at this juncture which would permit the South American side to look to secure a World Cup place via an intercontinental playoff.
