Have Real Madrid said goodbye to their best-ever right-back?
The departure of Dani Carvajal was announced on Monday morning.

Real Madrid announced the departure of club captain Dani Carvajal as they always do: with a simple statement. But his was longer than most, because he won more trophies than most.
The right-back leaves the club a true legend, with a total of 27 trophies to his name, including 6 Champions Leagues and 4 LaLiga titles.
While there have been more flamboyant and more skilful players, arguably none have worn the club on their sleeve quite like Carvajal, who appeared to embody the emotions of the fanbase and represent them on the pitch in every moment - for better or for worse.
While his hole on the right side of the pitch won’t be a huge one to fill given the dominance of Trent Alexander-Arnold, his off-field leadership and understanding of the club cannot be bought and Real Madrid’s summer to-do list just got a lot longer.
