The Santiago Bernabéu stadium has gone through a long process of redevelopment that is finally coming to an end. The outside shell of the ground has been covered and a roof has been popped on the top.
The ‘new’ stadium saw the first game held on match day 4 of the LaLiga 23/24 season: Real Madrid won 2-1 thanks to a late goal from Zinedine Zidane. Sorry, Jude Bellingham.
As well as this, the club have installed a new playing surface that retracts and literally folds away after every game, allowing it to be preserved underground. Take a look at the video to find out just how they do it.
