Andrew Wallace, who performed the initial surgery on the Slovenia international’s injury, has given the green light for Oblak to return to full training with Atlético and Diego Simeone’s first choice keeper should be fit to face Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League at the BayArena on February 21.

Oblak made a brief return to the training pitches last weekend but will now step up his recovery and it is expected he will be available for selection a few weeks ahead of his original recovery schedule, which had targeted the return match against the Bundesliga at the Calderón on March 15.
