"Zidane has a lot of personality and charisma, and the players will give their all for him. He’s going to extract the best out of every one of them".

Ex- Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti gave his opinion on how he sees Zinedine Zidane faring in the managerial hot seat at the club. The Italian is in no doubt that the Frenchman "has got what it takes to succeed".

Speaking at the Marca awards gala today, Ancelotti said: "You could say that Zidane lacks experience – when you start a job, you don’t have experience – that’s the case for everyone, but you gain it. Zidane has got everything he needs to become a great coach: he’s got charisma, he has all of the capacity required to be a good coach. He knows football inside out and he’s got everything he needs to coach Real Madrid. What is success? It’s the results over the season; it’s working so that the players are at their maximum level. Zidane will triumph because he has charisma and personality and the players will give their all for him. He’s going to extract the best out of every one of them".

Ancelotti picked up the best coach award at the awards ceremony and also spoke about his time at Real Madrid: "This brings to a close a very nice stage in my life, one during which I coached a great team with great players. I’m very pleased with the award and I have very fond memories of those two years I spent at the club".

He ended by speaking about what the future might hold: "Leaving never feels good at the time but as the months roll on, you’re left only with the good memories, not the bad ones. I have been fortunate enough to have coached Real Madrid, and all the memories I have of that time are good ones. One door closes and another opens – that’s football and that’s what the life of a coach is like. I knew that one day I would have to leave. I’m starting a new chapter – one which I don’t know when it will close".
