Spain shuttle back to reach quarter finals
Following defeat against Bulgaria, Spain's women qualify for the quarter finals of the European Team Championships where they will play the Ukraine.
Update:
After an initial defeat to Bulgaria 2-3 in group stages of the European Women’s team championship, the Spanish ladies have gone on to win their next two matches to qualify for the quarter finals. On Friday 19 February (13:00 CET) they will play the Ukraine.
In the second of the three matches Spain had a resounding 5-0 victory over Belgium and progress was secured after a closer 3-2 tie against Estonia.
World number one Carolina Marin posted this photo of the jubilant team on her Twitter account following confirmation of their safe passage through the group phase.
