Castilla go top after Sestao win as Barakaldo slip-up in Gerninka

Spanish U-17 talent Febas was the star today at the Alfredo Di Stefano grabbing a brace as Castilla overcame stern resistance from the visitors from the Basque country.

Real Madrid Castilla are on track for a return to the Spanish second tier and today's victims were Basque visitors Sestao River. The team from Vizcaya visited the Alfredo di Stefano stadium with the meanest defense in the division with just 11 goals conceded all season.

Two superb goals from Aleix Febas were enough to unpick the Sestao lock after just 16 minutes of the action had elapsed in the Spanish capital and had Jon González's team on the ropes in uncharted territory. The Basque team clawed a goal back on 24 minutes through Canario but Borja Mayoral restored the two goal cushion on the stroke of half-time. Castilla held on in tense second period to claim maximum points.

Later in the evening leaders Barakaldo made the short trip to fellow Basque side SD Gernika knowing that Castilla had  overcome Sestao. A lone Ibon Enziondo goal however was enough to for a home win that sees Barakaldo relinquish their long tenure at he top of 2B Group II. One point now separates Castilla (58 points) and Barakaldo (57 points)  with 12 rounds of games remaining.
