Suárez elbows Godín, leaves him with black eye
In the 69th minute of the Champions League match between Atleti and Barcelona, Suárez led with his elbow into a challenge with Godín. The result wasn't pretty.
Barcelona's Luis Suárez was once again at the centre of controversy, in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-final against Atleti. In the first leg he kicked out at Juanfran and elbowed Filipe Luis, though avoided getting sent off both times.
In the match that saw Barcelona eliminated (2-0 for Atleti, 3-2 on aggregate), Suárez led with his elbow when jumping for an Arda Turan cross. The Barcelona striker's elbow impacted directly on Atleti defender Godin's face.
The result of clash was to leave Godín with a damaged face and a black eye.
The incident provoked a scuffle between the players, after which Suárez was booked.
