Diego Simeone hopes a victory over Celta on the final day of the season will give his players the momentum they need to go into the Champions League final.

Simeone: "The best way to prepare for a final is to compete"

Diego Pablo Simeone gave his final press briefing of the season - at least as far as the league is concerned, with his Atlético de Madrid and Celta meeting tomorrow at the Vicente Calderón. El Cholo insists that although the title race is over for the Rojiblancos, he won't be resting anyone on Saturday - he wants his players to maintain their competitive edge in the run-up to the Champions League final against Real Madrid.

Victory on the last day: "It's important to finish things off well, or as best as possible; we're in a situation in which we have managed to outdo ourselves and register the second best figures in the history of the club. What interests us now, is staying competitive for what's to come. There's no better way of doing that than playing against a side like Celta, who have managed to pull themselves out of difficult situations - like when they were without Nolito, losing Augusto, who was a very important player for them... We couldn't wish for a better rival to continue with our own work.

Concentration. "After tomorrow, there is no competition between now and the Champions League final, but we will be attempting to work in the best way possible, like we have always done ahead of an official game, so that we can confront the final in the best conditions possible".

88 points... "We are one game away from being able to sit down and analyze how our league campaign has gone - not an assessment of the year, because that ends on May 28th, but it's evident that in the league we have done well. Finishing it in the best way we can will leave us feeling happy and serve us well. The younger players are growing and that's a positive sign for the future. That has been one of the most encouraging things about this season".

Torres and his contract renewal: "We're with him all the way and it's an issue we are all involved in".

Tickets for the final in Milan: "I can't really comments on the tickets for the final because it's out of my hands; it would be wonderful if more people could come but I'm afraid it's a question for UEFA, not me".

Oblak. "Oblak will play tomorrow. Whatever is positive for the team is what we need to do. He's one of the most important goalkeepers in the world".

Reserving players. "We have a Champions League final ahead of us and the best way to prepare for that is to continue competing. Opinions are a wonderful thing, one of the nicest things that life can offer, we can all express our views".
