Gareth Bale worked on the sidelines as the Wales team trained two days before their dream semi-final date with Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal. Wales' chances of achieving the impossible by reaching the Euro 2016 final and potentially winning the trophy hinges on their star man and Galáctico Gareth Bale.

Bale sent Welsh hearts a-flutter by training apart from his teammates, instead working on the margins alone with a member of the coaching staff. It appears, however, that it was a precautionary measure rather than a reaction to a flare-up of Bale's recurring calf injury, he was seen repeatedly stretching out that muscle area.

The medical team is confident, however, that their talisman will be fit and firing for the Welsh dragons on Wednesday evening where the team can make history. Along with Bale, Edwards also trained apart from the group, with the session lasting about an hour.

With anticipation growing in Wales, manager Chris Coleman has a task on his hands to reorganise his side, with crucial players Aaron Ramsey and Ben Davies suspended from the biggest game in the history of Welsh football, but the nightmare scenario of Bale missing the match through injury looks like it will not come to pass.
