Juve start title defence at home to Fiorentina
Allegri's Juve welcome the Florentine side on the opening day in what is always a game with added edge. December 4 sees first Rome derby.
The complete 2016/17 Serie A fixtures were published this evening.
The opening day throws up an interesting match-up as Fiorentina travel to Turin to face defending champions Juventus on the weekend of August 21. The rivalry between both clubs is over twenty years old with the move of former Fiore hero Roberto Baggio to play for the "Old Lady" at the end of the 1980's only serving to further the animosity.
Italian football throws up some key derbies and the first of these takes place on Giornata 9 when the Derby della Lanterna between Sampdoria and Genoa takes place at the Luigi Ferraris stadium.
The first Derby della Madonnina in Milan takes place in the 13th round of fixtures at San Siro with the Rome derby (Derby dela Capitale) taking place in the first weekend of December. This is followed one week later by the Turin derby (Derby della Mole).
New sides Crotone and Cagliari are away on the opening round of the season at Bologna and Genoa respectively whilst Pescara open their season in Serie A with a home fixture against Napoli at their Stadio Adriatico.
