Atlético unlikely to do more business in the transfer window

Atlético Madrid are unlikely to do any more business in the transfer market before the window shuts on 31 August. Despite labouring to two draws against newly promoted Alavés and Leganés, Los Rojiblancos are not likely to bring in any new last-minute additions.
Atlético, who customarily produce or bring in young players who are then loaned out, for instance Diogo Jota, Werner and Santos Borré, feel that the first-team additions of Vrsaljko, Gaitán and Gameiro, along with Moreira to as goalkeeping back-up, is enough. To date, Los Rojiblanos have spent 81 million euros in new signings, the second highest behind Barcelona, and believe their squad is strong enough to cover every position.
Atlético’s 22-man squad is made up of three goalkeepers (Oblak, Moyá and Moreira), seven defenders Juanfran, Savic, Godín, Filipe, Vrsaljko, Giménez and Lucas) and twelve in midfield and attack (Augusto, Tiago, Gabi, Thomas, Saúl, Koke, Carrasco, Gaitán, Griezmann, Gameiro, Torres and Correa).
Despite getting off to the worst start in Simeone’s tenure at the club, Atlético have the most valuable squad since the Argentine coach took over – according to Transfermarkt it is worth 493 million euros on the transfer market. Simeone has asked for calm and the squad believe that an improvement is only a matter of time given that chances have been created and their problems will be solved by being more clinical in front of goal.
