Madrid confirm UCL squad list: Odegaard in and Coentrao as a striker!
UEFA published the list of 25 registered players to participate in the 2016/17 competition they received from Real Madrid.
UEFA officially confirmed the 25 man squad list they received from Real Madrid ahead of the start of the 2016/17 group stage.
The inclusion of Norwegian teenager Marin Odegaard comes as a surprise as it's anticipated that the player will be involved in 2B football with Real Madrid Castilla (Madrid's 'B' team playing in Spain's third tier) at least until the next transfer window.
Another talking point is the inclusion of Portuguese defender Coentrao appearing alongside Benzema, Bale and Cristiano in the list of attacking players. (An administrative error apparently)
Real Madrid 2016/17 UEFA Champions League squad:
Goalkeepers: Keylor Navas, Kiko Casilla and Ruben Yañez.
Defenders: Dani Carvajal, Pepe, Sergio Ramos, Raphaël Varane, Nacho, Marcelo, Danilo and Fábio Coentrão.
Midfielders: Toni Kroos, James Rodríguez, Casemiro, Mateo Kovačić, Luka Modrić, Marco Asensio, Isco and Martin Ødegaard.
Forwards: Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Gareth Bale, Lucas Vázquez, Mariano Díaz and Álvaro Morata.
