Just two weeks after defeat to Chile in the final of the 2016 Copa America Centenario, "Tata" Martino stood down from his position as first team coach with the Argentine national team citing "personal problems" as the motivation behind the decision.

According to reports from well connected US soccer insiders, the next destination for the 53 year old coach is set to be with new MLS franchise Atlanta United.

The Georgia based team are set to make their MLS debut in the 2017 season and will play at the under construction Mercedes Benz stadium and have already sold over 20.000 season tickets for the forthcoming campaign despite not having a complete team assembled, official team uniform or coach.

Martino is well known in Europe for his brief spell with FC Barcelona that he later admitted himself "was a total disaster".

Atlanta United issued a "no comment" statement on the suggestion that Martino would become the first coach at the franchise and maintain they are still interviewing for the position.
